Both my wife and I have been blessed with the pleasure of being raised around animals as far back as we can remember. I grew up in Canada where my parents bred Champion dachshunds. I woke up to our German canary songbirds singing away. Then I found out about the clubbing of the seals. I've been a supporter since then. That's when I decided to help animals any way I can besides only giving money.
After the army I moved to Florida and worked at Calder Race Track as a hotwalker, then moved up to a groom. I loved working with the horses! Race horses or quarter horses are high spirted and it takes time to build trust.
I was working in my spare time at the South Florida Wildlife Center in Ft Lauderdale for 17 years. I fed the animals, took care of blind and hurt animals, built huts, relocated duck nests and eggs, relocated crocodiles and alligators, relocated snakes. I needed to get a license to handle and transport venomous snakes to do that.
I Worked with The Endangered Species Act saving endangered mud turtles and their eggs. We also hatched the turtle eggs ourselves. I helped many animals while I worked there and I loved doing it.
Since then I`ve contributed funding for the World Wildlife Fund, Humane Society, Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals and am now a proud member of The Cat Fanciers Association. We strive to give good loving homes for all our precious babies. We hand raise our kittens and they are part of our family from the start.
